My endeavour in this business started in the late 90's with my first trip to Mexico Taxco. I instantly fell in love with the magical colonial town famed for its silver jewelry production and spanish colonial architecture.

The unique chunky silver jewelry handcrafted by the incredibly talented silversmiths & designers instantly caught my eye. I also quickly developed a fascination and curiosity of the ancient pyramid sites and the mayan civilisation.

We were distributing to local retailers at that time.
After a while we then decided to go further a field and this is when I discovered the beautiful island of Bali. It's a paradise and home to an ancient culture thats known for its warm hospitality. I returned with gorgeous shell and gemstone silver jewelry which complimented our current range nicely.

It was the year 2000 that Essentially Silver was born as an online store.
In those days there were no templates, manuals, groups, as there is today.

People thought we​ were​ silly they would say ​there is no way people would ever buy jewelry online as it is a touchy feely thing.
