Arthur Blank, Pat Farrah, Ron Brill, and Bernie Marcus founded Home Depot in 1978. At that time, the company had just two locations in Atlanta, Georgia. With funding from businessman Ken Langone, the business expanded rapidly and rose to prominence across the country. Home Depot had grown to Georgia and Florida by 1984. It ran close to 1900 shops by 2005. One of the biggest home improvement businesses in the world today, Home Depot has more than 2200 locations globally. Its goal is straightforward: by providing everything from tools and building supplies to furniture, garden supplies, and home décor, it helps clients create better living places.
