Dr. Simon Obas is a dynamic K–12 education leader currently serving as the Deputy Administrative Head of Schools at School in the Square Public Charter School. He brings over 15 years of experience leading strategy, operations, and culture across high-performing schools.
Previously, he was Head of Schools at Paterson Prep, where he secured nearly $1 million in program funding, achieved 95% parent satisfaction, and rebuilt the Special Education program for full compliance.
Dr. Obas also served as Principal at Achievement First, leading 750 students and 100 staff to record gains in culture and academics, including a 100% college acceptance rate. His career includes leadership roles at Uncommon Schools, The Charter High School for Law and Social Justice, and KIPP NYC. He holds an EdD and MSW from Fordham University and a BA in Political Science from Johnson C. Smith University.
